Tasmiah is a fourth-year Public Health major from the San Fernando Valley. Although she credits her coursework at Berkeley for igniting her passion for public and community health, her vast arsenal of related experiences and work in the field have solidified her commitment to a public health career, including her recent internship at a substance abuse clinic over the summer. She is currently doing research with Stanford and UC Berkeley for global environmental health, examining how clean fuel initiatives affect the health of refugee populations and their impacts on gender-based violence. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Health.
