Sana DesaiIntegrative Human Biology

Sana is an Integrative Human Biology major who is interested in the intersection of science and the humanities. She engages with this interface through education: she founded BioethiCAL to introduce STEM ethics to undergrads, leads an annual course on bioethics for local high schoolers, and mentors 7th graders in Berkeley with their science projects. Sana is also an avid reader, writer, and communicator (she serves as an editor for two student publications and is minoring in English). One thing she really cares about is health equity. She is interning as a healthcare navigator at UCSF and is managing an effort to institutionalize access to menstrual products across Berkeley’s campus. In her free time, she likes to sing, write poetry, and try the spiciest of foods.
