Betsy is the Graduate Student Instructor for the Health Track of the Fung Fellowship. She is trained as a public health researcher and she has contributed to teams working in health equity, health communications, access to health information and services, and healthcare policy both within the US and globally. She has done research using both traditional quantitative and qualitative research methods and worked to conceptualize and implement innovative research approaches, including the use of Big Data for Infodemiologic research and the use of Youth Centered Health Design. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral in Public Health at UC Berkeley, conducting mixed methods sexual and reproductive health research focused on the connections between intersectional vulnerabilities, health, and technology among adolescents in the US.
To support her own health and wellness, she enjoys cooking and baking, being outdoors, doing tactile creative projects, and caring for plants.
