How might we reduce loneliness among college students?

For the past six weeks this question has driven Fung Fellows’ work, collaborative energy, and creative innovations. First year Fellows will present their team’s recommendations for combating social isolation on the UC Berkeley campus and beyond.

This challenge is a partnership with Hopelab, a San Francisco-based social innovation lab that designs science-based technologies to improve the health and well-being of teens and young adults. Hopelab has shared key research findings with Fung Fellows based on their work conducted with college-age young adults. Hopelab’s insights build upon the semester long exploration of the complex issues surrounding social isolation in diverse communities.
